When parents offer help in traditional ways, they unknowingly reinforce an anxious child's worry and avoidance. This class will help parents understand the benefit of helping their anxious children step into uncertainty, while limiting their reassurance, accomodations, and avoidance. This class challenges our basic notions on how to help anxious children. Instead of helping anxious children in the short term by "putting out fires", this class will focus on helping parents build skills for the long term.
We will cover the basics of anxiety to help you parent your anxious child empathetically rather accomodating and reassuring your child's anxiety.
This class will be held Live Online. You will join the class from the convenience and comfort of your computer anywhere you have internet access. That is AWESOME! After you register, you will receive an email with the information to connect at the time of the class.
